Trauma resolution intensives provide an opportunity to complete trauma processing in a longer session rather than over several weeks. Intensives allow you to directly address the underlying trauma history driving current mental health concerns and they can be used to help stabilize symptoms of PTSD, dissociation, and addiction. Trauma resolution intensives can be completed in conjunction with existing or ongoing therapy with us or with your regular mental health provider. Intensive sessions are scheduled for 4- to 8-hour long appointments and can be scheduled over several weeks or for several consecutive days. Intensives can be completed in person or remotely (in NYS). Trauma resolution intensives are a successful, cutting edge treatment option and clients report important therapy gains.
Trauma resolution is completed after phase one of stabilization and preparation and comprises of memory reprocessing. In other words, a memory that feels like it is still happening today is processed to a memory that feels like it happened. During a trauma resolution intensive, your trauma history is addressed in bulk format and we complete in 8-hours what we would do in 8 weeks.
The trauma resolution methods that we use are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), Progressive Counting (PC), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and Cannabis/breath-assisted sessions. Trauma resolution work is supported with mindfulness, expressive arts, and traditional meditative practices. ISF Neurofeedback is also often utilized in preparation for a trauma resolution intensive and afterwards to support therapy gains. To read more about specific clinical information on trauma resolution methods developed by Adam, read the Bulk Flash within Ego State Therapy blog.
Trauma (PTSD), stress, attachment traumas (adoption), substance/behavioral addictions (and recovery/4th step work), eating disorders, trauma-related ADD/ADHD, dissociation, chronic pain, anxiety, panic, anger, loss, problematic behaviors, spiritual crises, historical traumas, racial and political stresses, psychedelic integration, performance enhancement, relational discord, couples work, and a variety of physical illnesses and health issues. 4-hour stabilization sessions can be helpful for PTSD and Dissociation.
During an initial phone consultation it will be determined if you are a good fit for a trauma resolution intensive. Then, you will schedule a 1-2 hour intake session during which you will be provided recommendations for length and number of intensive sessions. During the intensive session(s) you will explore your trauma history, learn skills for trauma processing, complete memory reprocessing, and prepare to return back to your life. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to monitor progress. After your intensive session you will feel tired and we will work with you to make sure you have a plan for any needed support including rides if desired. Couples can schedule an intake session together and then schedule individual intensive sessions.
