Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specific therapy method developed to help people recover from traumatic life experiences. Extensive research has demonstrated its effectiveness in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR is different from other therapies in that it does not require the client to talk about the traumatic experiences and try to change thoughts or feelings. Rather, EMDR activates the brain’s natural healing capacity and helps resolve traumatic memories out of the fight-flight-freeze mode.
